ACCIS appreciates the framing of the consultation questionnaire in the sense that it openly asks stakeholders whether and how consumer laws can be simplified in order to reduce the burden for businesses while maintaining the same level of consumer protection. In that spirit, ACCIS advocates for clear simplification in the EU AI Act by calling on the EU AI Office to reaffirm that Logistic Regression is excluded from the definition of AI systems. This would give the much needed legal clarity to the market.

Furthermore, ACCIS relayed via the consultation questionnaire that in its assessment the existing consumer law acquis provides a wide and robust set of protection measures. The primary risk of further legislation being introduced in the sphere of Digital Policy is the potential for fragmentation and duplication.
