ACCIS has organised an in-person policy event on 19 November since the Digital Omnibus has reignited a discussion on, among other topics, automated decisions under the GDPR. While the EU Member States will essentially negotiate to maintain the status quo on automated decisions, there is a small chance the European Parliament might propose to make a change to the relevant provisions. For this reason, ACCIS has brought together speakers from across academia, EU institutions and other industry representatives to discuss this specific issue in Brussels.
Date: 19 November
Time: 15:30 – 18:30 CET
Venue: Spa30, Rue de Spa 30, 1000 Brussels
Speakers confirmed:
- Judith Arnal, Associate Senior Research Fellow at CEPS-ECRI & Board Member of the Bank of Spain.
- Valda Beizitere, Legal and Policy Officer, Data Protection, DG JUST, European Commission.
- Kiki Tsourou, Chair of ACCIS Data Protection Committee
- Lucia Pecchini, Secretary-General, European Fintech Association.
Moderated by Dan Dalton, Senior Advisor at Rud Pedersen Brussels. Former MEP.
ACCIS also hopes to be joined by an MEP who is one of the Shadow Rapporteurs on the file.
Please contact Charles Low, Chief Policy Officer, for more information.
